why is it so difficult to acknowledge the crimes commited by the Stalin's regime and grieve and reconcile as a nation with the victims and their descendants of that regime in Russia ?
What are the current politicians and some ordinary people afraid off ? If you look at how Germany dealt with their history of genocide and paid both material and cultural compensations in a way of programs and education and publicity and grass root movements - that is what Russian people and politicians should be aiming to do as the atrocities were of equal monstrocity if not worse as they were commited to their own people.
To know and repent and actively help the victims families regardless of where their descendants reside at the moment - this would be a positive step to put the ghosts of Stalin era to rest but never never forget the loss of so many innocent people.
