Ian Paisley Jr fined for refusal to reveal sources

Democratic Unionist Party politician Ian Paisley Jr has been ordered to pay a fine for contempt of court after his refusal to reveal the name of a prison officer who informed him of the destruction of files after the murder of loyalist paramilitary Billy Wright at the Maze prison in 1997. China delays Green Dam Youth Escort

Burma: new restrictions on musicians

The Myanmar Music Association (MMA) has introduced a new regulation for singers and musicians, who go abroad to perform. Maung Thit Min, Secretary of the MMA, said singers and musicians Who want to go abroad to perform will have to inform us of their exact schedules, details of their trip and performances and sign a commitment that they will return to the country. Yacheslav Yaroshenko, editor-in-chief of the newspaper Korruptsiya i Prestupnost (Corruption and Crime) died yesterday after sustaining head wounds in an attack in April. Read more here
