The problem is - is that people are responsible for their own actions. It is good and wholesome that you choose to show compassion and forgiveness to the police man who hit you. Yet it was his choice in that moment to strike you, (three times). It was done and can not be un-done. That Police man wore a uniform like his colleagues that overtly declared his membersip of an organisation and he had the blessing of that institution. As much as the polititians hide behind the police that indevidual who hit you hides behind his uniform as all thugs have done throughout history. A person has to move forward working with the situation as they find it, there is no "if only" or "what if" there is just the circumstance one is in. The police hit innocent people who feel frustrated at the injustice of their situation. It adds injury to insult. The police's credibility and any moral superiority they might have claimed and any sympathy I might have extended them are now gone.
