The Information Ministry said it acted after <a title=\"New York Times: Belarus: Government Closes Two Newspapers\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2011\/04\/28\/world\/europe\/28fbriefs-Belarusbrf.html\" target=\"_blank\">repeatedly warning<\/a> both newspapers over their political coverage in the last year. In a separate incident yesterday (27 April), opposition leader Dimitry Bondarenko was found <a title=\"The Canadian Press: Belarus closes 2 independent newspapers, sends opposition leader to jail for 2 years\" href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/hostednews\/canadianpress\/article\/ALeqM5gqfhjurvmIZj9ScDuC-YhnoHTXTg?docId=6678936\" target=\"_blank\">guilty of organising a rally<\/a> in December to protest the election results which extended President Alexander Lukashenko\u2019s term in office.
