In March Likhavid, a member of the Za Svabodu (For Liberty) movement, was sentenced to three and a half years for participating in <a title=\"The Guardian: Clashes in Belarus after thousands turn out in protest at alleged vote-rigging\" href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/world\/2010\/dec\/20\/belarus-protest-alleged-vote-rigging\" target=\"_blank\">a rally <\/a>held to protest President Alexander Lukashenko\u2019s reelection last December.
