{"id":49155,"date":"2013-07-12T10:20:41","date_gmt":"2013-07-12T09:20:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.indexoncensorship.org\/?p=49155"},"modified":"2017-05-22T16:16:21","modified_gmt":"2017-05-22T15:16:21","slug":"youth-group-creates-kill-pussy-riot-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.indexoncensorship.org\/newsite02may\/?p=49155","title":{"rendered":"Religious youth group creates &#8216;Kill Pussy Riot&#8217; game"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A Russian Orthodox has launched a video game in which players attack members of punk feminist group Pussy Riot with a crucifix<\/strong><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.indexoncensorship.org\/newsite02may\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/pussy-riot.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"410\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.globalpost.com\/dispatch\/news\/thomson-reuters\/130711\/new-russian-video-game-takes-aim-at-punk-band-riot\">According to Reuters<\/a>, &#8220;Players use a mouse to move a cross over the screen and zap colorful cartoon representations of the women from Pussy Riot &#8211; each with a balaclava like those worn by the band members in their protest &#8212; as they try to enter a white church.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Pussy Riot have declined to comment on the game.<\/p>\n<p>Two of the punk group, \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Maria_Alyokhina\">Maria Alyokhina<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nadezhda_Tolokonnikova\">Nadezhda Tolokonnikova<\/a>,\u00a0are serving sentences in a penal colony after they staged a protest against Vladimir Putin at Moscow&#8217;s Christ The Saviour Cathedral in February 2012.
