Just outside Dhaka University, they were attacked with machetes by Islamic fundamentalists. Ahmed\u00a0was severely wounded and Roy\u00a0himself was killed.<\/p>\n<p>In the British Humanist Association&#8217;s 2015 Voltaire Lecture, Ahmed\u00a0will make her first public appearance since her husband&#8217;s\u00a0murder to speak about her life with Roy\u00a0and their struggle for humanism and secularism in Bangladesh and elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>Although shaken, Ahmed\u00a0has sworn to continue the struggle against censorship and violence.
