Abdiaziz has been charged with\u00a0insulting a government body, simulating a criminal offence and making a false accusation.\u00a0The alleged rape victim&#8217;s husband and two others who introduced her to the journalist were charged with\u00a0assisting her to secure a profit for the rape allegation and assisting her to evade investigation. The sentences are five and four year terms respectively.\u00a0The next hearing will be held on 2 February. Abdiaziz<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>had interviewed the woman on 8\u00a0January after she said she was <a title=\"Index on Censorship - International free speech round up 18\/01\/13\" href=\"http:\/\/blog.indexoncensorship.org\/2013\/01\/18\/index-index-international-free-speech-roundup-4\/\" target=\"_blank\">raped<\/a> by soldiers at a displaced persons camp in Mogadishu. The attacks are thought to have come from hackers connected to the military in a possible retaliation to a series of stories run by the newspaper &#8212; \u00a0alluding to the vast wealth accumulated by premier of the state council\u00a0<strong>Wen Jiabao.<\/strong> The <a title=\"Index on Censorship - Posts tagged hacking\" href=\"http:\/\/www.indexoncensorship.org\/newsite02may\/tag\/hacking\/\" target=\"_blank\">hackers<\/a> entered into the Times&#8217;s systems, accessing information on the personal computers of 53 employees, including China correspondents.\u00a0Mandiant, an <a title=\"Index on Censorship - Internet revolution in crisis\" href=\"http:\/\/www.indexoncensorship.org\/newsite02may\/2012\/12\/internet-global-itu-wcit\/\" target=\"_blank\">internet<\/a> security company hired by the newspaper on\u00a07 November,\u00a0said the attacks were likely to have been part of a spy\u00a0campaign, after discovering that the computers used for the attacks were the same used for Chinese military attacks on US military contractors in the past. Hackers began attacking the Times on\u00a013 September, around the time the Wen Jiabao story\u00a0was in its final pre-publishing stages.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A former policeman<\/strong> in the\u00a0Ukraine\u00a0has been <a title=\"Guardian - Ukrainian policeman gets life for murder of journalist\" href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/media\/greenslade\/2013\/jan\/30\/journalist-safety-ukraine\" target=\"_blank\">sentenced<\/a> to life in prison for the murder of an investigative journalist, it was reported on 30 January.\u00a0Oleksiy Pukache was the fourth person to be charged with the murder of\u00a0<strong>Georgiy Gongadze,<\/strong> after his dismembered body was discovered in 2000. The other three were sentenced to 12 and 13 years. As\u00a0Pukache was sentenced, he announced that equal blame for the <a title=\"Index on Censorship - Media murders: How to end impunity?\" href=\"http:\/\/www.indexoncensorship.org\/newsite02may\/2010\/09\/media-murders-end-impunity-press-freedom\/\" target=\"_blank\">murder<\/a> should be placed on the country&#8217;s former president\u00a0Leonid Kuchma and then presidential chief of staff\u00a0Volodymyr Lytvyn.<\/p>\n<p>Gongadze&#8217;s headless body was found in the woods six weeks after he was kidnapped in Kiev &#8212; a case which caused huge demonstrations and helped prompt the\u00a02004 Orange Revolution.
