Journalist Jawed Ahmad was gunned down by two men while getting out of his car in the southern city of Kandahar yesterday.
Ahmad, who worked for Canadian Media channel CTV News, was arrested in 2007 by the US military for contacting the Taliban and being believed to be a threat to the coalition forces. He was held for 11 months at Bagram air base before being released without charge.
