Index on Censorship launches the latest issue of its award-winning magazine with a special evening of theatre and discussion marking the 20th anniversary of the revolutions that brought down communism in Eastern Europe.
Rare performances of Samuel Beckett’s Catastrophe and Václav Havel’s Mistake, first published by Index on Censorship in 1984, will be followed by a panel discussion with author and journalist Misha Glenny, Serbian novelist Vladimir Arsenijevic and Index on Censorship chief executive John Kampfner.

The Association of Independent Electronic Media comprises 28 radio stations and 16 television companies which strive to broadcast news programmes of the highest professional standards throughout Serbia and Montenegro. ANEM aims to establish a politically independent legal framework and to develop electronic media, and provide help and support to media outlets.

The open call for artists & filmmakers closed on 1 July 2008. We received applications from artists & filmmakers from 30 countries, and we thank all organisations and persons who have assisted us in distributing our open call around the world.
We are currently in the process of selecting artists & filmmakers to participate in the 2009 dialogues, and will announce and introduce the artist pairs as and when they are all confirmed.
