Dutch MP Geert Wilders, who has been told he will be refused entry to Britain to attend a screening of his film Fitna, has been allowed to board his flight from the Netherlands.

Wilders to face trial for Fitna

A Dutch court has ordered the prosecution of Freedom Party leader Geert Wilders for inciting hatred and discrimination against Muslims. The charges relate to Fitna, a film he made last year in which he compared the Quran to Mein Kampf and drew a direct link between Islam and violence. Mr Wilders has called the decision ‘an ‘attack on the freedom of expression’.

Controversial Dutch MP Geert Wilders, along with Danish editors and a cartoonist involved in the Mohammed cartoons controversy, has been charged with ‘blasphemy, demeaning Islam and Muslim feelings’ in Jordan.
