International Media Support is committed to freedom of expression and supports local media in countries affected by armed conflict, human insecurity and political transition. IMS activities cover three thematic areas of engagement. In addition to media and conflict, IMS is engaged in media and democracy activities in countries in transition in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, and in media and dialogue activities mainly covering the Arab world and Iran.
The International Freedom of Expression eXchange is a dynamic network that monitors, promotes and defends freedom of expression worldwide. IFEX has over 80 member organisations operating in more than 50 countries, the majority in the developing world and countries in transition.
Originally founded to promote literature, International PEN engages with, and empowers, societies and communities across cultures and languages, through reading and writing. It is involved in the promotion of literature, international campaigning on issues such as translation and freedom of expression and improving access to literature at international, regional and national levels.
Sociedad Interamericana de Prensa is an organisation devoted to defending freedom of speech and freedom of the press in the Americas.
