The Arabic Network for Human Rights Information fights against censorship policies of the governments of the Middle East and North Africa. ANHRI provides an arena where information can be exchanged and archived, available to Arabic readers worldwide. ANHRI’s legal aid clinic provides support and advice to human rights organisations and the media, and is dedicated to defending journalists, bloggers and intellectuals in court.

The Arab Archive Institute is a research centre which collects and carries out research on human rights in the Arab countries. The AAI’s objective is to enhance media freedom, and human rights in Arab society by carrying out studies on these themes and holding local regional and international conferences about the issues raised.

This June marks the 75th anniversary of UK human rights organisation Liberty. Index chief executive John Kampfner and Index trustee Sir Ken Macdonald are set to speak at the event which celebrates 75 years of protecting civil liberties and human rights as well as debating the challenges to rights and freedoms in modern Britain. The panelists include some of the UK’s leading thinkers and campaigners including Liberty director Shami Chakrabarti, Tony Benn, Diane Abbott MP, Iain Dale, Nick Clegg MP, Peter Tatchell, Kate Adie, Vivienne Westwood and many more.
