Five climate change protesters who climbed on to the roof of the Palace of Westminster have been found guilty of trespass under the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act (SOCPA).

Leo Murray, Olivia Chessell, Alexander George, Tamsin Omond and Graham Thompson, members of campaign group Plane Stupid were protesting about what they claimed was ‘collusion’ between BAA and the Department for Transport over the building of a third runway at Heathrow airport.

Each was ordered to pay £365 in costs and damages, except for Ms Omand, who was ordered to pay just £150.
