Editor Khin Maung Aye and reporter Manaw Tun of Rangoon-based weekly journal News Watch have been acquitted, after being detained for over two months in the notorious Insein Prison.

Both had been charged in early November for insulting the court with a report on the corruption of judges, which alleged the judges had erroneously used articles of the Criminal Code Act.

News Watch is considering re-hiring both men, who have been with the weekly since its inception, for their original posts.
