A superinjunction banning new organisations from naming Take That singer Howard Donald has been lifted by the Master of the Rolls Lord Neuberger, Lord Justice Kay and Lord Justice Sedley, but an order banning a former girlfriend, singer Adakini Ntuli, from selling her story is still in place. The initial injunction was granted earlier this year by Mr Justice Eady.
Superinjunctions have a disastrous effect on free expression,” said John Kampfner, Index on Censorship’s Chief Executive. “Celebrities are increasingly pursuing privacy actions in order to dictate what is published about them.”
