The Copenhagen Summit will debate one of the most important public issues of the past thirty years. Many scientists and advocates predict climate change will kill potentially hundreds of millions of people worldwide over the coming decades. This begs the question: is there a special responsibility for the media to exercise restraint in reporting climate change? Or are we witnessing the rise of an unchallengeable orthodoxy?

If you you are curious why the Climate Denial industry might like the PR effect of ‘climate gate’ see Monbiot’s investigation of their activities @

The Climate Gate Scandal unravels this hoax on AGW and demonstrates that there is no relationship whatsoever between human activities and climate change. The climate on all planets including ours has changed since the beginning of each planet, but for natural reasons and not human-induced causes.
[…] (Don’t forget I’m debating Monbiot tonight 6.30 in London. Please come and give your support. I’ll be so much better if I’m playing to a friendly crowd – here are the details) […]
[…] my debate with George Monbiot on “Saying the unsayable: is climate scepticism the new Holocaust denial?”. I dunno […]
Climate skepticism is more like it was in the 1940’s trying to get people to believe the holocaust was happening. People just didn’t want to believe it and the world was shocked when the truth came out. That is what is happening with climategate. The truth is coming out ant the skeptics are being vindicated.
I rang the free word centre, not being broadcasted live. they told me instead it will be followed on guido fawkes’ blog – http://www.order-order.com
bit odd
Good lick for tonight James – stick to the facts and you won’t go wrong.
Always remember that with any hypothesis, like CAGW, it’s the responsibility og the proponents to prove it true, which it clearly hasn’t despite the trillions spent on it. The opponents don’t have to come up with a different solution to any climate problem – their role is to provide the evidence for falsifiability, which they have in spades.
BTW, could be good to have Lord Monckton in the audience if he’s in town, just in case the AGW’ers have some big guns lurking?
Put ‘climategate’ into google = over 25 million hits, put it into BBC News search = 0
It’s unsayable on the BBC News and the Guardian websites and Dave Camerons Blog to name but a few. All anti AGW comments get deleted and the MSM coverage is extremely reluctant to discuss this topic and when they do it is littered with emotive language such as ‘deniers’ ‘skeptics’ and ‘hackers’ but no ‘believers’ It is also worth mentioning that the data wasn’t ‘hacked’ but accidentally placed on an external server by one of the CRUs own administrators
This should be interesting. I’m in the USA. Will this be telecast via the internet?
Recently returned to his home near London is historian David Irving, who has for ten years sold books and DVDs over his Web site. New York State and City politicians recently pinned the Yellow Swastika of Holocaust Denial on him – with a financial dagger. They pressured PayPal, American Express, Visa, and Mastercard all his payors, to cancel their Merchant Agreements with him.
