Tesco has been criticised for displaying a book about Josef Fritzl in its Father’s Day gift section. The store hit back at the complaints, saying it would be touching on censorship to remove the book but has now changed its policy and taken the book out of displays. Read more here
A Thai court has dismissed a criminal defamation lawsuit filed by Tesco Lotus against former MP Jit Siratranont. The judgment said Jit’s comments on Tesco were “in good faith by way of fair comment on any person or thing subjected to public criticism”. The court also dismissed the claim of one billion baht damages by Tesco.
Supermarkets including Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsburys and Asda, will display the latest Manic Street Preachers album in a plain slipcase after deeming the cover “inappropriate” and potentially offensive to shoppers. Read more here
